    starting problems....

when i start my (1997 sebring convertible) Hot or Cold. does not matter. the starter...(i believe) makes a rattleing sound like it is hitting teeth with the flywheel. you know the sound you get when the starter is just not getting the silinoid in fast enough ... well it is a sound like that.. and when the engine has started. the sound goes away.. however when i turn the key off the sound happens again.. like a rattle ..what could that be. i have heard that it may be a cracked flex plate...lower ontrol rod...maybe loose exhaust manifold. i am confused. please help if you can. thanks brian
