I currently own a 1995 Dodge Avenger, 2 door, automatic, 2.5L engine. My problem is as follows. It was running poorly like it wasn't wanting to shift out of second gear and into third, (roughly 2500 rpm and about 28mph). But once it was ran for a bit and got warmed up, it would run fine. I listened to it and thought it might be a fuel problem. I later pulled off the hose off the fuel regulator so it would dump in as much fuel as possible. This made it run better and I thought it might be a fuel pump problem. Once the pump was replaced, it still has the same problem as before. The only thing I can think of is either Fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, maybe a fuel pressure sending unit, or something else....any ideas?
