I'm a single dad, and just purchased a 91 Mercury Tracer 1.9L because I need the MPG. Now I get to sit and look at my awesome truck in the garage thanks to the oil companies. Anyway, the tracer has been overheating, the top radiator hose was sucking itself flat, so I changed the thermostat. The old one was broke, but the car is still overheating with the new one.(yes it is installed correctly). I'm getting a no exhaust detected, lean condition detected when I hook it up to OBD reader. I'm guessing that is unrelated to the overheating. The top radiator hose is sucking itself flat, so I assume the waterpump is working right? I have NO LEAKS anywhere, so any ideas on what is wrong with this thing? Besides the error code I mentioned no other error codes are detected. I have to pay for private school, so tell me this is a cheap fix guys!
