My next door neighbor is in his late 70's and just bought a new fender mount solenoid for his 1990 F150.
I don't believe he has it wired up right as when I saw him trying to work on it he informed me that everytime he gets wires tightened down and he hooks the battery cable back on the battery (or touches it to the post and holds it) his starter tries to start the vehicle with the key in the off position or even out of the ignition.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram from a chilton's or other manual so I can check and see if he wired it right? Could it be possible he mounted it upside down and connected to the wrong posts by being 180 degrees off??? Who knows? I would have to see a wiring diagram for the solenoid.
