I just bought a 97 mustang. Its 4.6 liter V8 so i was very excited about the purchase. i went to the dealership to test drive it and everything was hunky dory. I didnt have time to do an extensive check under the hood because i was in a rush to get to work on time that day. I work in ft lauderdale and the dealership is in hialeah. Anyway, when i test drove it, it didnt make any strange noises or do anything funny. so i went ahead and bought it. told the dealer i would go purchase my insurance and come back the next day to pick it up. when i came back the next day the mechanic at the dealership was workin on the car. i noticed that everytime he revved the engine it started smokin from the exhaust real bad. They told me the mechanic was fixing a problem with the spark plug and it shouldnt take long. I know that plugs misfiring can increase emmissions so i figured he would be able to fix it. The next thing u know they told me the problem seems to be more serious, they are going to have to send it to a shop for 7 to 10 days. Could it be the catalytic converter? or somethin even more serious? Should i just get my money back? any advice or opinion is greatly appreciated
