Lost timing on a '92 Eclipse 1.8l (non-turbo)

    Lost timing on a '92 Eclipse 1.8l (non-turbo)

Car ran just fine until I had to replace the front oil seal (auto mechanic shop damaged it and refused to cover it).

Accidentally lost the timing while replacing the seal, now I cannot get it to start.

I have replaced the distributor (was damaged during my repair attempts). and everything is put together according to my stupid Haynes manual, and I have followwed every single step in the book.  I have spark, I have fuel, and the engine turns over very nicely, but it ONLY does that, it doesn't even cough or sputter, it just will not start.  Any advice on recovering the timing or anything else would be very helpful.

    Thanks in advance,

    DeMann
