Corolla takes 15 attempts to kick over....when it does it purrrrs effortlessly, no whine. it starts easily the rest of the day...only trouble is the first start early in the morning. I noticed corrosive build-up on my battery cable prior to this. I cleaned it off, hoping it will solve my problem. this starting problem has been for 2 weeks now. at first it would start after 3 tries, then 4...and now it's 15.
A mechanic says it's my starter and wants $400 to fix it. I'm thinking it's just my battery and will replace it tomorrow even though it has an indicator that shines that it's still good.
