i started the car its running fine but when i put my foot on the brake and went to shift gears it wouldn't let me shift the gear why did this happen i know its a old car but it still have life in it

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus V6 3.0 Liter, 24 DOHC. After driving for about a half hour or so the low coolant sensor light comes on..There is plenty of coolant in the overflow tank. Would the sensor be bad or what. The operating temperature seems to be ok according to the instrument gauge..

Have a 96 Taurus that kissed a pole and deploied the airbags (which breaks the windsheild) Airbags replaced along with window. But light still on. Would be a great help if someone could help me out >>>>> Thanks

My 1996 taurus overheats at idle, but cools quikly after RPMs are increase. Additionally, the heater stops blowing hot air at idle, but blows hot during normal driving. May or may not be related?????
