Lately when I make left turns I hear what sounds like rubbing or chafing noises coming from the right rear of the car. Can anyone tell me what would cause this, and how can I fix it?

I allowed my '81 Toyota Tercel to sit unused for a couple of years. Now when I get it to run, it idles weakly, and spits out Raw Gas from the muffler... any advice ? I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. My problem is that while running the engine shuts off, sputters at times, then runs, little dieseling. What do I need to check for. Fuel pump, filter in the tank, O2 Sensor would appreciate your expertise, wisdom.
