my car will turn over but will not start it is getting fire and gas but will not start

i figured out how to start it by jumping between the two post while the key is turned.is my problem the solenoid

my car drives fine, dosen't miss or any thing that would send red flags. but the other day comming back from dropping my son off from school I noticed an adnormal amount of oil leaking from my car. what could be the problem?
