when this happens, bleed the fuel pressure off the fuelrail,,if it starts then it's probobly the feulpressure regulator..this drove one mechanic nuts,,and he was no dummy.

That's where the bulbs are located,,,,pull the whole thing out piece by peice,,,center panel snaps in..Keep track of everything

As no one has responded,,,,I remember such problems in this forum awhile back, a transmission sensor may be involved.search this forum.

looking through a Haynes manual it says 2002 and later 3.0's had no EGR,,,for a V6 sohc it's at the right rear corner of intake manifold near firewall..some are vacuum regulated with a vacuum regulator valve,,,some are differential feedback,,these books can be vauge ...

Your temp. control more than likely operates a valve in the colant lines going in the "firewall" using a cable or vacuum...

If you have vibration in corners I wouldn't hesitate to get this fixed, (the trucks for your daughter?) check ball joints, suspension arms,tie rod ends...These trucks can take a beating and usually do,,they're not kidding when they say Ford tough.
