in 2wd only the rear drive train moves. i was having problems with my 4wd so i took off the drivers side tire and then removed the "hub lock mechinism" i looked inside and saw the lubed sprokets that fit over the "axel" with a scew driver, depressed the sping inside and it snapped back into place. now the front "axel" ...

i own a 98 rangerxlt v6 3.0 4x4 (same truck in 2wd) first make sure your tires are the correct size, that could make all the difference in the world. the door panel should say 235 70 R16. then make sure they are properly inflated. again the door panel should read 32 front 35 rear. i have mine set at 35 all the way around. a little bumpy ride but ...

the 4WD high and the 4WD low lights on the dash light up and flash 6 times and then stop. if i try to engage the 4WD again the same thing happens. is their a reference book that will tell me what the six flashes means? if so will someone please send it to me? 4WD will NOT engage ever. thanks

4WD "on the fly" from what i understand to engage the 4WD I'm supposed to put trans in neutral, then flip the switch from 2wd to "4WD high", then put trans into reverse roll back 2 or so feet or until I hear a C-CLUNK sound, and drive away in 4WD. well no.when i flip the switch I hear nothing! it does nothing. also ...
